Some plants are imported specifically for growing-on.
Due to the facilities at Siji Greenhouse, we are able to bring in high volumes of 'raw material' for cultivation and finishing at the farm.
In some cases, in particular "Dracaena and Yucca 'canes' varieties", the material is without roots or shoots. These are brought in by reefer container (40'), then full cultivation and growing is carried out at the farm. Some of the gains made by importing by Sea are offset by the costs of growing the plants in the UAE, but there is a net gain which is passed on to our Clients.
